JOHN Cartwright believes Hull FC star Davy Litten's best position now is centre and is very reluctant to move him from it.

Cartwright delivers verdict on rising star Litten's best role

The 21-year-old has started the last five games in the three-quarter role since coming back into the team following an MCL injury.

He scored two tries at Warrington and has held his own against both Hull KR and Wigan in recent weeks.

And in tying down another young player to a new deal at the club, Cartwright has spoken of the importance of building for the future, with the head coach also laying out Litten's qualities.

Litten started his first-team journey at full-back but is now aiming to keep hold of his centre spot and prove himself as an established Super League player.

Speaking on Litten's new deal, Cartwright said: "It's great news. I think he's been in great form since he's come back into the team.
