BAE Systems targeting the next generation of workers

DEFENCE giant BAE Systems is creating almost 90 new jobs at its Humber region operations as part of a huge drive to root out the next generation of workers.

BAE Systems has announced that applications for its 2026 apprenticeship intake are open, with bosses hunting for newcomers who will take up roles at its bases in all corners of the UK, including its air division in Brough.

The company is looking to fill 53 apprenticeships, 10 undergraduate jobs and 26 graduate roles at the Brough base for next year's intake.

The roles are among 1,100 apprenticeships and a total of 2,227 jobs up for grabs in the UK at its facilities in Scotland, North West, North East, Yorkshire and Humber, the South and South East, across its air, land, weapon systems, digital intelligence, electronic systems, maritime services, naval ships and submarines businesses.

The announcement comes as the company announces a record achievement with more than 6,800 young people in training across its UK operations. The company said the figure, which includes around 5,100 apprentices and 1,700 graduates, underlines its commitment to developing the next generation of talent.
