Vijay meets victims’ families, apologises

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and actor Vijay on Monday met families of the victims of the September 27 Karur stampede that left 41 people dead and over 60 injured, in a closed door meeting in a private resort at Mahabalipuram near Chennai.
“He (Vijay) met each of the families one by one. It was a private meeting,” a member from the actor-politician’s team said, requesting anonymity, adding members from 31 of the 38 victim families met Vijay. “He apologised to the families for not coming to Karur to meet them. Vijay assured them that he will help their family members and children with their education.”
