PM kick-starts new AIIMS project in Bihar, lauds CM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Darbhanga in Bihar, and lauded chief minister Nitish Kumar for ushering in good governance in the state that previously reeled from "jungle raj".
Addressing a function at Darbhanga in north Bihar, where he also inaugurated development projects worth over ₹12,000 crore in Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that his government worked with a "holistic approach" towards healthcare, from prevention of diseases to advanced treatment, with an aim to improve medical access for the people.
"Nitish babu has set up a model of good governance. No praise is too high for him for his contribution in pulling Bihar out of the era of jungle raj," Modi said in his nearly 40-minute address. "Now, under the NDA's double engine government, the state is making rapid, all-round progress."
