No winter flocks in sight due to AQI? Delhi's birders cancel events

The 'poor' AQI in Delhi-NCR is making it hard to breathe for all, including the avian population. This explains why the winter birds seem to be refraining from flying to NCR, even though it's mid-November already - leaving birdwatchers disappointed.

"By this time last year, we had conducted over 20 rounds of birdwatching. But this year, even the first birdwatching walk has been rescheduled thrice because we cannot spot a single migratory bird in the Okhla Bird Sanctuary," informs Sanjay Sondhi, a Delhi-based naturalist who is a member of the Bird Count India group.
