History has not been kind to Netaji: Doval

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose played a key role in India's freedom struggle and his ideas have never fully been appreciated, national security adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval said on Saturday

NEW DELHI: Netaji's audacity and tenacity stood out, Doval said while delivering the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Memorial Lecture organised by industry lobby group Assocham in the national capital. Bose gave mottos like Jai Hind, "ittehad, itmad, qurbani (unity, trust, sacrifice)" and ensured that people rose above "distinctions of caste, religion and gender to pursue the singleminded goal of complete elimination of colonial rule", Doval said.

India would not have been partitioned had Netaji been around at the time of Independence, and Muslim League leader Mohammed Ali Jinnah had said he would only accept only Bose as a leader, he said.
