43 J'khand seats record brist polling as Phase 1 concludes

The fate of 683 candidates across 43 constituencies in the first phase of the Jharkhand assembly elections was sealed on Wednesday with the provisional turnout figure at 66.48%, officials said.
Polling was peaceful across all 43 constituencies. In 2019, the final turnout was 63.9% in these constituencies, officials said.
"Approximately 66.48% voter turnout was recorded as per data calculated till llpm, with Lohardaga district topping the list with 73.21% polling and Hazaribagh district recording the lowest at 62.78%," a poll official said.
While Kharsawan assembly seat in Kolhan division registered the highest turnout of 79.11%, state capital Ranchi logged the lowest polling with 52.27%, according to the Election Commission's figures at 10pm.Besides Kharsawan, other high polling seats include Ichagarh (78.28%), Behragora (78.20%), Ghatsila (75.85%), Tamar (74.05), Potka (73.30), and Lohardaga (73.21%), according to the EC.
