2 air force pilots killed in first Pilatus plane crash

Two Indian Air Force (IAF) pilots were killed on Monday after a Pilatus PC-7 Mk II trainer aircraft crashed near Hyderabad, the first accident involving the Swiss-origin aircraft in IAF service.
The aircraft was on a routine training sortie, from the Air Force Academy in Hyderabad, when it crashed in Toopran mandal in Telangana's Medak district. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the crash.
"It is with deep regret that the IAF confirms both pilots onboard the aircraft sustained fatal injuries. No damage to any civil life or property has been reported...," IAF said in a statement. The names of the pilots an instructor and a trainee were not released by IAF till the time of filing this report.
