Rising crowds: Mela area declared 'No Vehicle Zone'

Two days ahead of the Mauni Amavasya bathing, a huge surge of pilgrims is being witnessed in Mahakumbh Nagar on the Sangam banks.

The Mela police has completely banned the entry of vehicles into the fair area until February 5. DIG (Mahakumbh), Vaibhav Krishna, said that except for vehicles of administrative, medical and security personnel, entry of all others has been banned in the Mahakumbh Mela area from 8pm on January 26 to 8 am on February 5 or until the rush of crowd ends.

The Mela police and administration have built bathing ghats for devotees to take a holy dip just 2km to 3 km away from the parking places.
