SAIL Should Facilitate Residents Displaced Due to Projects: CM

Chief minister Hemant Soren said on Wednesday that the management of central public sector units (PSUs), including Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), should provide all required facilities in the villages where residents were displaced after their land was acquired for the project.

Soren's comment came while intervening during a discussion in the state assembly on a question raised by Congress's Bokaro MLA Shweta Singh, who highlighted the issue of around 50,000 residents living in several villages where land was acquired in 1964 for the SAIL industrial unit.
