Disney wins Moana copyright trial, but suit over sequel looms

The five-year legal battle over who created the 2016 hit animated film Moana has ended, with Disney emerging victorious.

The case brought by writer-animator Buck Woodall alleged that the film was inspired by his project, Bucky the Surfer Boy. However, a Los Angeles jury on Monday took less than three hours to rule in favour of the entertainment giant, concluding that the creators of Moana, John Musker
