Cipla Beats Profit View in Q3 on Strong Domestic Demand

Cipla, one of India's largest drugmakers by sales, reported a bigger-than-expected third-quarter profit on Tuesday helped by strong domestic demand, and said the U.S. freezing aid for some drug programs would not hurt its results.
HYDERABAD/BENGALURU:
The company's consolidated net profit increased nearly 49% to ₹1,571 crore ($181.6 million) in the October-December quarter, beating analysts' estimate of ₹1,212 crore, as per data compiled by LSEG.
Revenue from its key India market jumped 10% to ₹3,146 crore, aided by demand for drugs used to treat respiratory and urology-related conditions.
