SC allows 1 accused in '08 Jaipur bomb blast case to leave town, but puts strict conditions

The Supreme Court on Thursday allowed one of the accused of the 2008 Jaipur bomb blast to leave town after submitting his contact details to the Anti-Terror Squad (ATS), officials said on Thursday.
JAIPUR:
Additional advocate general of Rajasthan Shiv Mangal Sharma said, "The SC granted a bail to Mohd Sarvar Azmi on May 17, 2023. However, the Rajasthan government has opposed the decision stating that he is planning to flee to Uttar Pradesh. The State suggested imposing stricter alternative conditions to ensure continued surveillance and regular contact."
Following the development, the SC bench comprising justices BR Gawai and KV Viswanathan allowed the accused to leave the town but only after submitting his contact details to the ATS.
