RTR Plans to Shift Tigers to Non-Tourism Zones

In the wake of a tragic incident where a seven-year-old boy was mauled to death by a tiger, the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve (RTR) authorities have proposed relocating tigers to non-tourism zones within the reserve.
JAIPUR:
The proposal aims to reduce human-wildlife conflict and enhance safety measures for communities living near the forest fringes.
A senior forest official familiar with the development after the incident, a proposal has been mooted by the RTR authority of shifting the tigers to the non-tourism areas. "The proposal has been recommended to Chief Wildlife Warden for taking the final call. The idea behind is to avoid another casualty."
It is learnt that the tiger that attacked was probably one of the cubs of tigress Arrowhead (T-84), who are of around 20 months—the forest has not confirmed the identity of the tiger.
