Rajasthan Royals to plant a tree for every run in IPL

Rajasthan Royals will plant one tree per run scored during the IPL matches in Jaipur and the SMS stadium will be a "no plastic zone" during matches, Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC) president Neeraj K Pawan said on Tuesday.

The RSSC will be organising the IPL matches along with Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. Five matches will be played in Jaipur in April.

"This year, we aim to promote a green IPL. Our effort is to use the minimum amount of plastic during the IPL season so the carbon footprint time is the least," Pawan told HT.

"On the day of the IPL matches, viewers will not be allowed to enter the stadium with plastic bottles. People will be served water in paper cups," he said.
