Rain wreaks havoc, red alert for 6 distts

Heavy rains have wreaked havoc across Rajasthan, triggering flood-like situations in several districts, including Kota, Tonk, Sawai Madhopur, and Dholpur.
Many areas are submerged, and road and rail connectivity with Madhya Pradesh has been cut off in several places. Meanwhile, the Jaipur meteorological centre has issued a red alert for heavy rainfall in six districts.
In Sawai Madhopur, relentless rainfall since late Tuesday night led to flooding of homes with water reaching up to five feet. The Augad culvert on NH-552 near Bodal, around 12 km from the district headquarters, was washed away, severing the Sawai Madhopur-Sheopur (MP) route. Railway tracks at the Sawai Madhopur station have been flooded, disrupting train movement. According to the district administration, civil defence teams have been deployed to assist people in the affected areas.
