Over 6mn Rural Households Get Tap Water Access Under JJM: Min

Rajasthan has witnessed a remarkable leap in rural drinking water access under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), with over 60.46 lakh (6.46 million) rural households now receiving tap water connections — a major rise from just 1.168 million households in 2019 when the scheme was launched.
JAIPUR:
According to the ministry of jal shakti, at the time of JJM's inception on August 15, 2019, only 10.85% of Rajasthan's 10.775 million rural households had access to tap water. Since then, the state has added 4.877 million new household connections, pushing the coverage to 56.12% as of March 31, 2025.
