ACB Recovers ₹20 Lakh Bribe Day After Arrest of BAP MLA

The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday recovered the ₹20-lakh cash, which Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) legislator Jaikrishn Patel allegedly accepted as a bribe from a mine owner to drop three questions related to illegal mining in the state assembly, police officers aware of the matter said, adding that three more people have been arrested in this connection.

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday recovered the ₹20-lakh cash, which Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) legislator Jaikrishn Patel allegedly accepted as a bribe from a mine owner to drop three questions related to illegal mining in the state assembly, police officers aware of the matter said, adding that three more people have been arrested in this connection.

On Sunday, the ACB laid a trap and caught Patel red-handed. However, his staff fled with the money, they added.

ACB DIG Rahul Kotoki said, "The employee, Rohit, who fled with the money is still absconding. However, he handed over the cash to his uncle, Jaswant aka Laxman, who passed it on to another person, Jagaram. On Monday, the ACB officials recovered the money from Jagaram."

The officer said that both Jaswant and Jagaram were arrested on Monday, and the MLA's cousin, who was also a middleman, Vijay Patel, was arrested on Sunday night.
