Punish turncoat MLAs: Oppn asks Speaker

A delegation of the opposition grand alliance and INDIA bloc on Wednesday met Speaker of the state assembly Nand Kishore Yadav to demand disqualification of RJD members who had switched sides to the ruling NDA coalition after the JD(U) had realigned with the BJP by exiting from opposition alliance in January end, 2024 to form new government.

In a written memorandum to the Speaker by RJD's Akhtarul Islam Shahin, chief whip of the RJD, it has been mentioned that several RJD MLAs had voluntarily exited the party and action should be taken against them as per constitutional rules.

In the memorandum, the party has demanded that action be taken against Mohania MLA Sangeeta Kumari, Suryagarha MLA Prahlad Yadav, Mokama MLA Neelam Devi and Sheohar MLA Chetan Anand.

The memorandum contents was shared by the RJD with the media.
