Garbage piles, lack of fogging worsen mosquito crisis in city

Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has failed to implement its own orders for fogging and anti-larva spraying, leaving many residential areas in the state capital exposed to rising mosquito populations.

Despite LMC's claim that the drive would begin last Friday, several areas, including VIP stretches, remain untouched.

Residents of Aashiyana, Gomti Nagar, Indira Nagar, Dalibagh, Jopling Road, and Chowk are facing a growing mosquito problem. The absence of timely fogging and anti-larva spraying has allowed mosquitoes to breed unchecked, increasing the risk of diseases like dengue.

Rising mosquito population increases disease risk

In Dalibagh, resident Samarth Nigam said that despite living on a main road, he has not seen any fogging or anti-larva measures. Similarly, Prabhakar from Gomti Nagar noted that the LMC only takes action when mosquito populations reach alarming levels, usually after a rise in dengue cases.
