Civil Society questions system bailing out gangrape accused

LUCKNOW: Members of the city's civil society held a press interaction to express outrage over the release on bail of three accused in the 2023 Indian Institute of Technology-Banaras Hindu University (IIT-BHU) gangrape case.

They also highlighted the survivor's departure from Varanasi, citing fear and mental harassment as key factors.
They said the case happened in November 2023 when accused men gangraped a female student in IIT BHU campus. A series of protests broke out on the IIT BHU and BHU campus.
