Action Ordered Into Shiksha Mitras' Absence From Duty

Director general of school education, Uttar Pradesh, Kanchan Verma, has issued strict directives to the basic education officers of Lucknow, Sitapur, Unnao, Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri and Rae Bareli regarding the prolonged absence of shiksha mitras (assistant teachers) in these districts.
LUCKNOW:
The directive was issued after it came to light in January this year that 270 shiksha mitras in the districts under the Lucknow division have been on unpaid leave for months, affecting the education of nearly 50,000 children.
