TN'S OPPOSITION TO NEP POLITICAL, SAYS EDU MINISTER

As Tamil Nadu stepped up its opposition to the National Education Policy (NEP), with the ruling DMK and its allies announcing a protest on February 18, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday dismissed the state government's opposition as "politics" and said the Centre is committed to implementing the NEP across the country.

IMPHAL: The Coordinating Committee of Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), an umbrella body of Imphal-based civil society organisations of the Meiteis, on Monday urged Manipur governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla to issue an official statement outlining the immediate plans to restore normalcy and help establish a "duly elected government within this month" in the state which is under President's Rule.

The development comes a day after 10 legislators from Kuki-Zo communities urged the Union government to lay out a "comprehensive political road map" for peace and justice in the ethnic violence-torn state.
