Corporate tax collections from Delhi up over 14%

Delhi is the second state to rake in ₹1 lakh crore corporate income-tax after Maharashtra (₹3.39 lakh crore) in the assessment year 2023-24 while Karnataka acquired a distant number three position with a ₹72,826 crore mop-up in the period, according to government data.

Corporate tax collections from Delhi saw an over 14.15% increase to ₹1,08,596 crore in AY24 as compared to ₹95,127 crore in AY23, according to the comparative data for five assessment years (AY). Maharashtra, which was the sole state to collect ₹1 lakh crore-plus until AY23, saw a 13.78% year-on-year increase in the mop-up to ₹3,39,511 crore for AY24, it said. An AY indicates actual income and tax details of the previous financial year (FY).
