Amritpal's aides will return to Pb, his NSA detention may end

The Punjab Police will bring back nine associates of jailed MP and radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh from the Dibrugarh jail in Assam after the Aam Aadmi Party-led state government decided not to extend their detention under the National Security Act, a senior police officer said on Sunday.

CHANDIGARH:

Officials indicated that Amritpal's detention under NSA will also not be extended and he is likely to be brought back to Punjab in April.

The decision was taken with the detention of the seven associates set to expire, the officer said, adding that they will face the law in the 2023 Ajnala police station attack.
