Yogi Reviews Preps for Mauni Amavasya, Basant Panchami

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday reviewed arrangements at the Mahakumbh and instructed officials to further improve security, crowd management and the communication system in Mahakumbh for the Republic Day, Mauni Amavasya (January 29) and Basant Panchami (February 3).

MAHAKUMBH NAGAR (PRAYAGRAJ): Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday reviewed arrangements at the Mahakumbh and instructed officials to further improve security, crowd management and the communication system in Mahakumbh for the Republic Day, Mauni Amavasya (January 29) and Basant Panchami (February 3).

He directed the officials to ensure one-way on pontoons on these special days. He said the mela area should be declared a no-vehicle zone on Mauni Amavasya and Basant Panchami.

He reiterated that the Uttar Pradesh council of ministers will hold a meeting at the Mahakumbh on January 22. Besides, many dignitaries were proposed to visit the Mela.

Earlier, the chief minister arrived at the DPS helipad and visited the camp of Swami Chidananda Parmarth Niketan.

The chief minister said about 1.5 crore devotees were present on the Mela premises at present.

He also said up to 10 crore pilgrims were expected to arrive on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya (January 29).
