January 02, 2025

The Uttarakhand government on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to promote tourism in border areas by using helipads available in the jurisdiction of ITBP.

- HT Correspondent

DEHRADUN:

The MoU was signed in the presence of chief secretary Radha Raturi by senior officials of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board and ITBP.

At the signing event, Raturi said: "Under the central government's flagship project Vibrant Village Programme, priority has been given to the all-round development of villages in the border area. Under this, providing resources for the livelihood of the villagers is also one of the main objectives." ITBP is deployed in forward posts in three border districts of Uttarakhand (Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh).
