4 Killed in 2 Separate Road Mishaps: Police

Four people died, two in Pauri district and two in Nainital district, in two separate road accidents, police said on Wednesday.

An official statement from the state disaster response force (SDRF) said: "After receiving information from police station in Dhumakot that a vehicle (DL5 CR 4864 Alto) had fallen in a gorge in Bhaun-Khalyun Danda area, SDRF team from Dhumakot immediately left for the spot under the leadership of additional sub inspector Devendra Negi with necessary rescue equipment." The incident took place on Wednesday.
"The team found that there were three people in the car, of which two had died on the spot. The team took out the bodies of both from the gorge and handed them over to the district police for necessary action. One injured person was taken out of the gorge and rushed to the hospital in an ambulance for treatment," SDRF said.
