The Telangana state cabinet chaired by chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday decided to implement 42% reservations for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the upcoming local body polls.

Briefing reporters after the cabinet meeting, state information and public relations minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said an ordinance, seeking to provide 42% quota for the OBCs, as promised by the Congress before the elections, would be promulgated
