Bhagwat Emphasises Unity of Hindu Society
Hindustan Times Chandigarh

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) wants to unite the Hindu society because it is the "responsible" society in India, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Sunday, wrapping up his 10-day visit to West Bengal where assembly elections are due next year.
KOLKATA:
"Those who don't understand the Sangh often wonder what it wants to achieve. If I were to answer, I would say the Sangh strives to organise the Hindu society because it is the responsible society of the country," Bhagwat told followers at a rally in East Burdwan district before ending his Bengal tour which began on February 7.
The state police had denied permission for the event at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) stadium in East Burdwan's Talit, saying the use of loudspeakers could disturb local residents since state secondary board exams are going on. However, the Calcutta high court on Friday allowed the rally, but directed that restrictions on loudspeakers must be adhered to.
