Rajnath calls for deepening Russia defence collaboration

Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday pitched for exploring new opportunities to deepen collaboration with Russia across a raft of niche technologies, during a highly anticipated meeting with his Russian counterpart Andrei Belousov, the Indian defence ministry said.

The two leaders held wide-ranging talks on taking defence cooperation to the next level at the 22nd India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Military Technical Cooperation IRIC-M&MTC ) in Delhi, on the eve of talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin.

“Both sides reiterated that India-Russia ties are based on a deep sense of trust, common principles and mutual respect,” the defence ministry said.
