Maha Kumbh Stampede: Bodies of two devotees brought to Belagavi from UP

The mortal remains of two of the four Belagavi residents who lost their lives in the Maha Kumbh Mela stampede at Prayagraj, arrived at the Belagavi airport on Thursday.
BENGALURU: The district administration received the bodies, which were then transported to the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences District Hospital for postmortem.
MPs Jagadish Shettar, Priyanka Jarkiholi, MLAs Abhay Patil, Asif Sait, deputy commissioner Mohammad Roshan, Superintendent of Police Bhimashankar Guled, and several other officials paid their respects to the deceased - Arun Koparde (61) and Mahadevi Bavnur (48).
The remains of four Belagavi residents, the other two deceased were - Jyoti Hatrarwad (44) and her daughter Megha Hatrarwad (24), who died in the stampede at the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela were flown to Delhi before being sent to Belagavi. Due to logistical challenges, the bodies were transported on separate flights.
