Madhav Gadgil leaves behind rich inspiration for Earth’s protectors

On August 31, 2011, an extraordinary report was submitted to the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC). It was the Western Ghat Ecology Expert Panel Report, headed by the Harvardreturned scientist, Dr Madhav Gadgil. After his PhD, he did the unthinkable: he returned to India in the early 1970s and joined the Indian Institute of Science (IISc).
