Torquay are ready for Buckland test - Wotton

Torquay United head to Buckland Athletic this weekend for a first preseason with manager Paul Wotton intending to give all of the fit players in his squad a run-out.
With the National League South fixtures released today (Wednesday, 1am) the excitement ahead of the new season will ramp up - with Wotton hoping for a home start, but not too worried if the team has to begin 2025-26 on the road.
By the time they run out for that first friendly at Homers Heath however, they will be 'in the know' and planning for the first game, which will be played on Saturday, August 9.
"There are little stages," said Wotton. "The fixtures come out and then we have our first preseason game, then the fans get to see the new kit, and things like that. It's a slow burn until August 9.
"But once the fixtures come out it all becomes very real. The you have got to focus and you know what's coming. We'll look forward to that."
