Woman’s case against ex-husband dismissed

ABU DHABI: The Al Ain Court of Civil, Commercial, and Administrative Cases dismissed a lawsuit filed by a divorcée against her ex-husband, in which she demanded that he pay her Dhs977,926, which she claimed she had transferred to him as a loan, as evidenced by bank transfer statements and account records.

She also sought 9% delay interest from the date of filing the lawsuit until full payment, as well as Dhs450,000 in compensation for material and moral damage, along with legal fees and expenses. The plaintiff attached bank account statements to her lawsuit.

The appellee’s lawyer argued that he had previously filed a lawsuit to compel the plaintiff to pay amounts she owed to her ex-husband, and a judgment had been issued in his favour, ordering her to pay him Dhs300,000.
