Russia’s inflation slowing down

Russian inflation is gradually slowing down, governor Elvira Nabiullina said.

She told a parliamentary committee that inflation will continue to decline in the next few months and will return to normal by the end of the year.

The central bank kept its key interest rate on hold at 21 per cent, the highest level since the early 2000s, at its latest meeting on March 21. It is trying to bring down inflation, which reached 9.5 per cent in 2024 and continued to rise at the start of the year.
