Relief packages for flood victims go missing

Relief packages meant for thousands of affected families in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have gone missing, raising serious questions about the relief distribution system of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), said a report.

The PRCS claimed that 2,000 packages were formally approved and dispatched, but they neither reached the KP chapter nor the intended recipients.

It said the consignment was handed over to the KP chapter's vice chairman Farzand Wazir, who, however, rejected the claim, stating that he never received the relief goods.

PRCS KP chairman Malik Habib dispatched a letter to the national headquarters, stating that the KP branch never received the packages allocated for Parachinar and Kurram.
