The UAE Olympic Committee held a joint meeting with national sports federations via video-conference to review preparations for participation in the 4th Summer Youth Olympic Games, scheduled to take place in Dakar from Oct. 31 to Nov. 13 this year.

At the outset of the meeting, Mohammed Bin Darwish, Executive Director of the UAE Olympic Committee, conveyed the greetings of Faris Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary General of the Committee, to representatives of the participating sports federations.
He highlighted the significance of this major sporting event, in which the UAE has participated since its inaugural edition in Singapore in 2010.
The UAE subsequently took part in the second edition in Nanjing in 2014, followed by the third edition in Buenos Aires, Argentine, in 2018, where the nation secured their first medal at the Games in equestrian events through the rider Omar Al Marzooqi, who won silver in show jumping.
