Mohanlal apologises to fans for L2 Empuran pain

TRIVANDRUM: Mohanlal has expressed regret for the “great distress” his latest blockbuster, L2: Empuraan, has caused among many of his loved ones, after deciding to drop several castes that angered them.
Rightwing Hindus on social media have been attacking the reigning Malayalam superstar onthefilms, which is a sequel to Lucifer, for the portrayal of the 2008 Gujarat riots in which over 1,000 people, mostly Muslims, died.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) distanced itself from the hate mongers, saying the film was a work of fiction but called for its boycott.
