Police in Kerala have filed a case against alleged tampering with the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) data used to measure viewership.

BARC senior manager Premnath is the first defendant, with Reporter channel promoter Anto Augustine as the second.
Both face serious charges of forgery and breach of trust on a complaint filed against them by the rival Malayalam channel, 24 News.
The one-billion-rupee rating manipulation scandal that jeopardises the integrity of India’s broadcast measurement system has landed the media industry in turmoil.
