Kerala orders probe into RSS anthem at train opening

Kerala has launched an inquiry into an incident where schoolchildren allegedly sang an RSS anthem on the newly inaugurated Vande Bharat Express from Kochi to Bangalore.

General Education Minister V Sivankutty directed the Director of Public Instructions to submit a detailed report on the incident immediately.

In a statement on Sunday, Sivankutty asserted that children should not be exploited in government programmes to make political capital.

He offered appropriate action in response to the inquiry’s findings against the school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is the ideological fountainhead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The school is managed by Bharatheeya Vidyanikethan, the Kerala chapter of Vidya Bharathi, which is an educational initiative of the RSS.
