Car drives into Hollywood crowd, leaving dozens injured

A car drove into a crowd outside a nightclub in Hollywood early on Saturday, injuring more than two dozen people, including the driver who was pulled out of the car and attacked, authorities said.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation and authorities are searching for a gunman who non-fatally shot at the driver in the chaos that followed, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

More than 1OO firefighters responded to the scene in East Hollywood, with 23 people taken to hospital — seven were in critical condition. Six others were in serious condition, ten in fair condition, and seven were treated at the scene, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

At least three were in critical condition after being injured along Santa Monica Boulevard in East Hollywood, the Los Angeles City Fire Department said in a statement.
