A total of 2,297 websites and social media accounts promoting drugs and psychotropic substances have been monitored and blocked as part of efforts to track these platforms and address the modern promotion methods used by dealers in the digital space, according to Sheik Zayed Bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Anti-Narcotic Council.
Sheik Zayed Bin Hamad explained that the Council has launched strategic national initiatives aimed at enhancing drug prevention and raising community awareness about their dangers, through educational and awareness programmes directed at various segments of society, especially the youth.
This came during a main session titled “National Movement Against Drugs,” as part of the annual meetings of the UAE Government 2025, where the key national efforts in combating drugs and the achievements the country has made at both the local and international levels were reviewed.
