Wage Protection System now applies to five new categories

EMPLOYERS MUST PAY WAGES IN DIRHAMS WITHIN 10 DAYS FROM DUE DATE

In the latest update on its website, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) said that the Wage Protection System (WPS) for domestic workers is now mandatory for five new categories of workers.

As of April 1, the WPS is mandatory for private trainer, private teacher, home caregiver, private representative and private agricultural engineer.

Optional categories include housekeeper, sailor, nanny, cook, guard, private driver, shepherd, stableman, camel trainer, falconer, labourer, maid, farmer and gardener.
