A single night of torrential rain turned India's tech capital into a picture of urban chaos, as large parts of Bengaluru were left water-logged, traffic snarled, and residents stranded yesterday - the first working day of the week.

The deluge not only triggered massive civic disruption, but also ignited a fierce political row, with the BJP launching a scathing attack on the Congress-led government.

Heavy pre-monsoon showers ranging between 103mm and 130mm - lashed the city late Sunday, flooding arterial roads, tech parks, and residential neighbourhoods.
