NORTH East Lincolnshire Council is in the final stages of negotiations over the timetable for remaining works to Corporation Road Bridge, Grimsby.

Cllr Stewart Swinburn (Conservative - Immingham Ward), portfolio holder for housing, infrastructure and transport, stated this at the council's cabinet Facebook Live Q&A last week.

The bridge has been closed to motorists since February 2023. The council has a new contractor, experienced bridge restoration specialist Taziker, on board.

There were a wide range of topics covered at the recent Q&A. However, transport issues featured several times, including questions over parking and potholes.

Corporation Bridge

"It is a very complex situation as we all know," said Cllr Swinburn, as he responded to a request for a Corporation Bridge update from a member of the public. Most of his response was a pre-written statement cleared by the council's legal and monitoring officer.

"We are now in the final stages of negotiations with Taziker over the cost and programme of works and we expect this to be in place by the end of October 2025."

The council has brought in a new contractor after parting ways with previous contractor Spencer Group.
