- Carmelo GARCIA Local Democracy Reporter

A total of 2,539 claims have been lodged with Gloucestershire County Council since 2020/21 - of these 80 have been successful, according to a response to a freedom of information request.

The claims amounted to a total value of £876,655.28 while the payouts add up to £26,875.79. Only five of the claims out of the 515 lodged during the last financial year were accepted. The total value of the compensation claimed was £182,846.19 but only £4,184.41 was paid out in 2024/25

In 2023/24, 24 claims were accepted out of the 735 which were lodged - this amounted to £9,526.42 of the £268,305.39 claimed. Only four of the 453 claims lodged in 2022/23 were paid out amounting to just £841.15 of the £141,041.77 claimed.
