Gloucester-Hartpury’s Jones loses the Wales captaincy

Head coach Sean Lynn, who had Jones in his treble title-winning Circus squad before taking over the national side, has announced he will be appointing a new captain ahead of his side's summer tour of Australia and the 2025 Rugby World Cup campaign.

Lynn endured a disappointing first campaign in charge of the national side as they failed to win a single game at this year’s Six Nations, finishing with the wooden spoon for the second year in a row.

That disappointing run has seen him looking to drive much-needed change within the squad and transform the culture around it as well as improving performances on the pitch.
