Covid vaccine rollout plan for autumn is revealed

COVID vaccinations are to be offered again in Wales this autumn, the Welsh Government has announced.

But ministers say the eligibility for the jabs has now "significantly narrowed" since they were first rolled out in December 2020 - with the vaccine programme now focusing on "targeted vaccination for people who continue to be at higher risk of serious disease including mortality".
Health Secretary Jeremy Miles, pictured left, said: "Eligibility for the autumn 2025 Covid-19 programme will be narrower than in recent years and with similar eligibility to the current spring programme.
"This is in line with a transition to a narrower programme overall as high levels of population immunity have developed over the past four and a half years.
