Music lovers in the neighbourhood get together

Twice a year, Bertie and Annétia Heckroodt's home doubles up as a theatre house for Musiek inni buurt ('music in the neighbourhood'), an evening of musical fun and appreciation.

The latest such event was held on Friday 30 May with Philip Lochner, a founding member of the Eden Camerata Choir, as the programme director.

"The shows started in 2022 by invitation to local residents, but word of mouth caused it to escalate, with now as many as 70 music lovers attending. Soup and bread are being served at a minimal cost."
